Epithalon

Composition

Each pack contains:

• One vial with Epithalon – 10 mg (lyophilized tetrapeptide)
• One ampoule with 2 ml sterile water for injection

Pharmacological Effects

• Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) mimicking the natural pineal gland peptide Epithalamin.
• Telomerase activation: May promote telomere elongation, potentially slowing cellular aging.
• Antioxidant & Anti-aging Effects: Modulates melatonin secretion, improves circadian rhythm, and reduces oxidative stress.
• Oncostatic Properties: Investigated for potential anti-cancer effects (preclinical data only).

Indications

• Research use: Primarily studied for anti-aging, cellular longevity, and age-related degenerative conditions.
• Experimental applications:
• Retinal degeneration (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa)
• Immune system modulation in aging
• Telomere-related disorders (no clinical approval)

Recommended Dose

• Research dosage: 5–10 mg/day (subcutaneous or intramuscular).
• Cycles: Commonly used for 10–20 days followed by a break.
• Reconstitution: Sterile water or bacteriostatic water (0.9% NaCl may also be used).

Side Effects

• Common: Flushing, dizziness, injection site reactions, headache.
• Less common: Hyperglycemia, joint pain, numbness, carpal tunnel syndrome.
• Rare: Hypersensitivity, increased intracranial pressure (pseudotumor cerebri).

Contraindication

• Hypersensitivity to the peptide.
• Pregnancy/lactation (no safety data).
• Active malignancies (theoretical risk due to telomerase stimulation).

Storage Conditions

• Unreconstituted vials: Store at 2–8°C (refrigerated), protected from light.
• Reconstituted solution: Stable up to 7 days at 2–8°C (with bacteriostatic water).
